FROZEN MUSIC x Zurich Opera House
Concept + Curation
Zurich Opera House
An award shaped by applause.
Project developed with architect, designer and artist Julia Koerner, translating sound and resonance into physical form through computational design and 3D printing. For Zurich Opera House, Frozen Music transforms applause into physical form. Audience reactions and sound frequencies are interpreted through a custom design algorithm, generating a three-dimensional geometry realised as a 3D-printed sculpture. The work became the official Opernhaus Award, first presented in 2026.
Created with Julia Koerner
FROZEN MUSIC x Berliner Philharmoniker
Curator + Project Developer
Berliner Philharmonie + IFA/International Radio Exhibition Berlin
A symphony. A cathedral. A sculpture.
Projects developed with architect, designer and artist Julia Koerner, translating sound and resonance into physical form through computational design and 3D printing. Schumann’s Rhenish Symphony becomes a three-dimensional sculpture. Inspired by the architectural relationship between the symphony’s fourth movement and Cologne Cathedral, a computational design process translated the music into geometry, drawing on architectural elements of the cathedral. The resulting 3D-printed work was first presented for IFA’s 100th anniversary in 2025 and subsequently exhibited at the Berliner Philharmonie until January 2026.

PODIUM FESTIVAL | MÖDLING
Co-Founder + Artistic Director
Experimenting with what a classical concert could be.
Co-founded in 2013, PODIUM Festival Mödling became the fourth festival within the international PODIUM network, following PODIUM festivals in Haugesund/Norway, Esslingen/Germany and Iceland. While connected through a shared approach, the individual festivals developed their own artistic identities and programmes.
During the first six years of the festival, Andreas developed concert programmes and multidisciplinary projects that brought chamber music into dialogue with video, stage design, sound installation, media composition, performance and other artistic practices. The festival became a space for experimenting with repertoire, concert formats, spatial concepts and the relationship between music and other disciplines.
Founded in 2013, PODIUM Festival Mödling continued beyond Andreas’s tenure and presented its final season in 2024.
In his last season as Artistic Director, the festival received the Cultural Prize of Lower Austria, following a Maecenas Recognition Award the previous year.
