GRAFENEGG | Grafenegg

Strategic Consultant

Developing structures and perspectives for artistic education and exchange.

Across two consulting mandates, working with Grafenegg on the development of its educational and artistic activities. The initial focus was on the structure and strategy of its educational ambitions, including its own programmes and relationships with partner organisations.

A subsequent three-year collaboration accompanied the development of the Grafenegg Academy, advising on its strategy and the evolution of the programme for emerging professional musicians.

Together, the two mandates addressed both the broader institutional framework and one of its central programmes, connecting questions of structure and positioning with Grafenegg’s artistic and educational ambitions.

An external strategic perspective across different areas of the competition.

VIENNA TOURIST BOARD | Vienna

Consultant

Consulting a worldwide — and beyond — campaign around the legacy of Johann Strauss II.

Consulting the Vienna Tourist Board on its year-long 2025 campaign marking the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss II, contributing musical and curatorial expertise to the campaign and two further projects developed within the same context.

The work centred on bringing Strauss and his music into the present, exploring how one of Vienna’s most recognisable musical legacies could contribute to the city’s international cultural positioning today. It involved artistic research, the development and evaluation of ideas, and a curatorial perspective on how classical music could connect with new narratives, formats and audiences.

Among the campaign’s most distinctive initiatives was Waltz into Space: the Wiener Symphoniker performed Strauss’s The Blue Danube live in Vienna, while the music was transmitted as an electromagnetic signal into deep space in the direction of Voyager 1 — taking one of Vienna’s most familiar musical works quite literally into a new context.

SOCIAL IMPACT LABORATORIES | Würzburg | Manila

Concept Development + Laboratory Lead

Exploring how music and artistic practice can create social impact.

At Mozartfest Würzburg’s MozartLabor, developing a lecture series and leading a multi-day laboratory examining the social impact of cultural and artistic projects through the perspective of classical music. Participants were selected together with the festival through an application process, combining discussion and research with the development of concrete project ideas.

At Fringe Festival Manila, developing and leading a multi-day laboratory examining social impact through the broader perspective of music and contemporary cultural practice. Bringing together participants from Metro Manila with international artists and festival participants, the programme explored how artistic ideas can engage with social questions and develop relevance beyond their immediate artistic context.
